Species of this genus may be sold under the various headings of “freshwater/river prawn”, “long-arm shrimp”, “whisker shrimp”, “blue prawn”, “red-claw shrimp”, and “chameleon shrimp”; however, young specimens frequently - and mistakenly – arrive in shipments of freshwater feeder ghost shrimp.
