So I have an open top, and having a top isn't really an option because of my lighting.

I had all 3 of my amano shrimp walk out and die.

What can I do to stop them from coming out?

Make sure plants don't go to the top. I've never had this problem, and I have plants that crawl across the surface. Something must be stressing them out, they are trying to get to a better body of water.

Well I have drift wood that sits by the top.

Perhaps my loaches stress them out.

What species of loach? My shrimp are fine with my kuhli loaches. If your talking clown loaches, then I'd say your shrimp are scared to death of them.

No I got some yoyo's. but at the time I also had an angel.

Could that be a problem?

Should I try again?

Their a real high end store with picture perfect tanks in there. They know what they were doing

Their just big *** holes clearly

Have you tested your water? They will try and escape from poor water conditions

I don't have any amonia or nitrite if that's what your asking.

Amano shrimp will abandon ship for no good reason, heck they've even walked out of my net before. The best bet to keep them in the tank is to have very tight fitting lids.

My problem is I have A topless and can't get a lid :(
