So, I found Pat, my blue Mystery Snail munching on a dead guppy today... Sad. But also creepy... Is it ok for them to eat dead fish?

Yes, I understand that...but being a closed system and not an open lake, I didn't know if there would be a possibility of disease transfer or anything of that nature. Seeing as how there is far less water to dilute everything. Just never seen him do that before.

Every snail I've ever kept so far has been happy to help clean up anything dead. Be it fish, clam, shrimp or snail, they don't seem to care. And generally, anything that might have done in the fish would not likely affect a snail. Unless you know a fish died of disease, it's a nice protein boost for the scavengers.
