Red cherry shrimp

How often do RCS breed mine are going nuts I lost about 60-80 shrimp about a month ago I didn't even know there were that many in my tank. Now there about 30 in there and 4 are carrying eggs and how many fry can each shrimp have?

I've heard different opinions. If the tank is healthy expect the population to double every six months.

Double every 6 months? I started with 5 and now I have about 40 and it's been 2 months!

If you find there are too many, cull the ones that have the least colour, and you'll slowly build up a population of really red shrimp. The culls can be sold or given away, to whoever wants them, either to start their own tank or as feeders.

I'm not certain what the average size for a brood is, but I doubt it's more than twenty.
