I plan on purchasing a 46 gallon bow front tank. I would like to keep 2 fancy goldfish in it. I am aware of the frequent water changes that will be needed since they produce so much ammonia. Would this be an adequate tank size as they grow to full size? Any advice would be appreciated!

Usually it's said that the general rule for goldfish is 20 gal for the first one and 10 extra gal for each one you add. As all generalizations it may have problems, but I think you are well within appropiate sizing! Post some photos when you get around to it!

That's:fish1: a super size for two fancies. I would encourage you to try to provide filtration equal to about 460-500 gallon/hour, weekly cleaning and water change which will help deal with the goldie waste production.
