I have a 60gal tank that is completely cycled, i put an ADF in a few week ago and it seemed he was doing fine until today he was being weird floating at the top not moving much hitting the sides of the tank..he looked like he was on his way out so i felt bad and i took him out and flushed him. What could be the reason for his death? I really liked having one but is my tank too big?

They do best with a couple friends. Especially in a tank that size. If theyre the only thing in the tank, you could easily have six or seven. Or possibly more. Another thing, make sure they have plenty of hiding places as well. Good luck with the ADF's though, they're alot of fun to keep.

Sorry about your loss. In my experience they are better suited for smaller tanks. They like to come up a lot for air and tall tanks stress them out a bit. Not to say that's the reason yours died.

I've read they shouldn't be in water much over 12", with minimal flow.
