Hey there, i recently adopted an Eastern Painted Turtle who's an EXTREMELY picky eater. he really only likes proteins. he loves beetles and mealworms and chicken and even many turtle pellets that have a high protein content. but the only non-protein i can get him to eat is apples.
his shell started curling because he wasn't getting enough non-protein foods in his diet. i can't get him to eat leafy greens like people claim their turtles like. i even "planted" some kale in his tank to see if he'd eat it and he won't even touch it.
what can i try? he won't try any lettuce or anything similar. i've tried carrots and he wasn't too fond of them. i even have those soft turtle foods that have a lot protein level but he hates them and spits them right out. what else can i try that he might like?
