? about Diatoms

will Diatoms float in the water i woke up yesterday and noticed when my lights came on that the water looks dusty i cant tell if its micro bubbles or sand but its it. i almost wanna say its sand but i just cant tell. heres a small video so u guys can see what im talking about

so u guys know it got dusty once i seen diatoms showing up everywhere

i would think those are bubbles, unless you recently added sand. it doesn't look like algae in the water column to me.
 
thanks for the reply doug. no added the sand like a week or so ago but it was clear a few days ago. i think its because my hob filter. will a sump or refugium cut the bubbles down
 
it may. it depends on the sump. turn off the filter for a while and see if the bubbles stop first.
 
ok i just did my pwc so i will let it clear up an bit and turn it off and see that i come up with. thanks for the help...
