Yes, they will shed about once a month they grow back fast . And min is about 8" in diameter...

Sorry mine* I :caught: mine when he was about 4 inch diameter his claw broke off an two molts later he grew to 8 inch and his claw was completely grown back

Wow, 8" in diameter! Are we talking about the same crab? I'm sure we are but my arrow is only about 2 1/2" in diameter in a 29 gallon. I didn't realize that they got humongous!
