So, I've got two used canister filters. One is a Rena nexx and leaks about an inch of water every 10 hours into a 5 gallon bucket. (Wanting to replace) I also have a fluval 303.

Anyone have experience/problems with these? Any other good canisters that are reliable/quiet for $50? My tank is a 55 gallon breeder. I'm very paranoid about possible flooding and any tips or tricks to prevent one would be great!

So you don't think I should have any filtration, canister or HOB? Even though they can aid in nitrate production it seems like they do more good than harm

I would get a Marineland 350 HOB filter, $40.00 I have on my 90G and a AquaC Remora skimmer! I had the C360 canister that leaked!!!

HOB would be nice but I have the tank in my room and I don't want to deal with the noise of the water. Is there a way to combat this besides just keeping the water level at the correct height
