anyone have any idea why i have hair algae growing on the right side of my tank and not the left?

literally 0 on the left rock structure, and a bunch on the right

there is a 750GPH pushing from left to right and a smaller one (about 400GPH) pushing right to left (but lower down)

and then the canister filter output in the middle thats pushing in both directions at 600GPH

hmmm thanks. whats the best way to set up the powerheads?

my big one is near the top pointed upward to great small waves

You want to create a chaotic water flow, like you would see on a reef. You do that by pointing 2 powerheads of equal power at each other or across each other to create an X pattern.

got a reef octopus lx1000 and set it up yesterday....

and put the cheato in the middle media chamber (it now gets light directly from my t5 lights

now its time to build a hood to hide all of this

working great so far... makes a crazy amount of foam (bubbles)

just trying to figure out the perfect height for the collection cup so it doesnt over flow
