I have had a fresh water aquarium for a number of years and I am interested in starting a saltwater aquarium this weekend. I am looking at a smaller aquarium with a couple of clowns in it. What all do I need to know before I get started?

I would first get a book and start reading about it... Do some research and plan on spending money. I started (after a 10 year hiatus) with a 32 gallon hex (used oceanic) with stand and I have already spent 400-500 dollars... Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert Fenner is a great book to read up on this hobby... Good luck!

First thing is that SW tanks take time to set up. It will be a while (talking about weeks rather than days) before you should get your fish. I would suggest you read cycling tank in the articles and read as many posts as you can in the getting started forum.
