Question have a 29 gal tank now been running about 18 months.....upgrading to a 38 gal tank..is it safe to move and use the old sand from my 29 gal to the new tank.??????? Do I need to wash the sand our can i just place it in the new tank...Please help

Using the substrate from you old tank is a great idea, it will bring over the established bacteria bed with it. DO NOT rinse it. You will likely need to add some more sand to the 38 so do that first. Then place your current substrate on top.
