Is there a time period to go on to reseal tank?

I was thinking about getting a 200 gal from someone. And was wondering would it be best for the future to go ahead and reseal the aauarium if I get it or will it be alright if no leaks occur that is? And I have a 55 gallon that I bought from someone no leaks yet knock on wood but it there a time line or time period that should go by before you reseal aquarium? I wanna be prepared for the future
