Lighting - Need Assitance in decision

Hi, just reading your posts, I also have 39 watt T5HO's, and the 39 watt bulbs are 36 inches long. Not 30 inches. Just letting you know!
 
What would u suggest mr x for my cuc starting to get a brown algae in there
a diatom bloom is perfectly normal, and will leave as fast as it came. i really don't think you need anything in there eating it, but a few astrea snails will find it tasty. just add inverts a little at a time. you really don't need the amounts people say you do. a few snails and a couple crabs- because you like to look at them. otherwise, they might run out of food pretty quick.
 
i would add fish if you are considering sps corals, but with LPS that don't utilize dissolved organics in the water column, you really don't need fish. you are going to want to feed the corals occasionally in the latter case, to keep the beneficial bacteria colony alive.

to prevent the snails and crabs or whatever you choose from running out of food, don't add too many in the first place.
