does it help much? does take happpy little micro critters outta the water or anything else good? I have a little filter that suctions to the side of the tank and a filter that fit onto the bottom of one of my powerheads. what should i do with these? keep them... throw them away... just use them occasionally?

ty much fellas

You'll get many opinions on this one, but it really depends on the tank you have and the animals you keep as well as the amount. I for one like the benefits, while others prefer to rely more on natural control such as you have.

If provided with enough "raw" material, the tank can hold it's own providing the load does not exceed the capacity of the natural filter that controls it.

>>Here<< is a decent article that may give some additional insights.

Cheers
