Hey all,

In our new 55g setup, we are going to use a 3" sand bed. We have a friend who is giving us 40 lbs of live sand, and we bought 40lbs of non-live sand.

How should we go about mixing the 2 sands? Does it matter which goes in first? should they be pre-mixed before putting into the tank?

Thanks,

-TheChad

I would put the non live sand in first and then put the ls on top. I dont know if there is a certain way of doing it but that is the way I would.

Thats how im doing it :-D

When we put the LS on top, should you mix the sand, or leave all the LS on top, and Non-Live sand on the bottom?

Thanks,
