Hi, i'm cycling my new tank at the moment 6x2.5x2.5ft

18/9 added saltwater (ro)

24/9 added a few dead prawns

25/9 removed prawns and added 40kg live rock

30/9 added another 40kg live rock

I have been away with work so havent been able to test everyday.

2days ago:
Ammonia/NitRATE = o

NitrITE = .25

salinity - 1.025

ph - 8.2

today: Ammonia/Nitrate/Nitrite = 0

im starting to get diatoms now

will i need to wait for nitrates to raise and fall before adding fish/corals?
or can i do it now?

i have not seen my ammonia rise but as i said i havent been checking everyday due to work

thanks!!

If you had cycled I would expect to see some nitrates. You perhaps didn't get enough of an ammonia source to kick start the cycle, live rock alone sometimes isn't enough. Do you have access to pure janitorial strength ammonia? You could always dose up the tank and go from there.
