OK, I put my 2 blue spotted jawfish in yesturday evening. One seemed to be a little stressed even when I was acclimating them, so I didn't think that one would make it. This morning I found one dead and couldn't find the other, but there was some disturbed sand in a few areas.
Q: Is one of them still alive under the sand somewhere or should it burrowed up by now?

It's been another day and no sigh of my jawfish.

Can sandsifting starfish crush a jawfish or there tunnels?

I have 2 sandsifters, should I remove them?

As long as they are the sandsifting starfish and not the brittles you will be ok. The sandsifting variety consume fauna within the sandbed, beneathe where your jawfish would dig a residence. You can use a flashlight to check crevices and also check around the outside perimeter of the tank.

Yes your sandsifters are OK and they would not harm your jawfish. Hopefully it will show up.
