Substrate Change Method

Hey guys,

Changing my substrate for C C to a finer grade.. (about time) have been too lazy.. its my 75gal.. The reason for change is that i notice a more cleaner stable tank in my 100 gal (which has the finest grain sand i have ever seen)

Whats the best way to change the sand..?

I was thinking 50/50 over 2-4 weeks as i dont wanna lose too much beneficial bacteria..

anyone chime in if they have changed substrate with great success..

I changed my cc to sand two months ago. I changed mine all at once with no problems. Just keep your fish in QT and watch your water para's for a couple days. http://www.aquariumadvice.com/viewtopic.php?t=57549&highlight=
