I use tap. I mix my own sw. I checked my trates and their at <5

There's probably phosphates in your tap. That's what's feeding the diatoms. What conditioner do you use? You should look into rodi water from your lfs. It's cheap here, 50Ę a gallon.

You can buy it by the gallon. You don't need to get an actual system.
