My 75G FOWLR tank is in the process of cycling. I have mixed up about 4 gal of water in a bucket, added a thermometer, and a Rio 800 pump to circulate the water. The slainity of the spare water is the same as the tank. Can I just top off my main tank with this water when the level becomes low from evaporation? Thanks.

dang, anemoneman beat me.
top-offs are only done with freshwater. salt doesn't evaporate, neither does calcium and minerals...just H20.

so top off with freshwater, preferably R/O, although for curing LR, dechlor'd tap water is probably sufficient.

Cool, thanks.
