what is seeding, how do you do it?

i think seeding is taking bacteria and putting it on like non live sand/ or rock?

do you just touch the rock or whatever to it and it will be enough? i might be totally havin this all wrong. just guessing?

Seeding is taking something (rock, sand, ornaments) that is already well colonized with bacteria and adding it to the tank. It takes time so just a touch won't work. HTH

Yes, it also includes filter media (sponges, bio balls, rings, etc) as well.
