Start with the clown and get used to that as you upgrade. Definitely plan for what you want. Get what you can for what you have set up in order to get experience. Research what you want to get and then upgrade your tank as needed. Take your time even when your lfs says, "should be ok." I've spent more money on upgrades than what I would have had to if I had done more research to start and planned for it. HTH

Compact fluorescent lighting is the next step up from your normal output fluorescents. With decent PC lights you could keep mushrooms, some polyps, leathers and maybe even some LPS corals.

people come here to learn about there tanks. not get made fun of. i am sure that there is stuff that you can still learn from other people.

A 46 gal bow front (Soft coral) reef tank with a 10 gal sump. And a 30 gal (SPS and Clam) reef tank hooked up to the sump of the 46 so they share water.
