when you move water uphill it causes preasure on the pump lousing some of the gph thus called head loss.. measure the top of the lower water to the top of the other water volume of water and that the head loss distance. most pumps are rated for zero head loss in there gph rating.. some have charts that will tell you what they will pump at certian head loss amounts.
