I plan on filling my first 5 gallon tank with a colony of red cherry shrimp. Since they have such a low bio-load (afaik) I think if I try to cycle the traditional way I'll build up too much bacteria that would die and damage the water quality once I put the shrimp in. Are my fears founded? or am I thinking wrong? How do you guys cycle for your shrimp? BTW, there will be some plants in there, if it matters.

I am actually interested in this question too.... the first thing that's going into my tank is some live plants. I would like to know if I need to cycle if the second thing to go into my tank is shrimp? To be precise, 10 blue rili shrimp.
