Yes they can live in both. They will mate and lay eggs in both, but eggs need brackish water to hatch.

I ordered mine from online. Check your LFS as you'll save shipping.

The horned are smallest version. I have Zebra too.

Make sure to slowly acclimate though. And better to have established tank before you get inverts as they are more sensitive than fish to water parameters.
 
They are all doing well.

Both mothers have died is that common?

I actually ended up with 18 babies when it was all said and done! Ugh

I am going to have to take some to the fish store they said they would be glad to find them homes!

Just waiting for them to mature a little
 
How are your water parameters? There may have been a spike in ammonia after the fry were born. Also, the moms could have been pretty stressed out from the move. I'd check the water parameters and make sure everything checks out. I'm sorry that you lost the moms. :(
