hujeta pike help

so i got a hujeta pike 4 1/2" at my LFS and he was pretty healthy and about a week in my hospital tank i moved him to my 55 gallon and in a couple days he started eating i bought a bunch of guppies at .5 to feed him but instead he ate my danio and now about four days later i think he`s getting hungry but he`s not eating them whats wrong?

How do the guppies compare to the danios in size? If they're close in size or the guppies are smaller, just leave him be. If he's hungry, he should eat the guppies.

well the guppies are 1/2" and the danio was about 2"
