I recently put my remaining Tetra AquaSafe into a container of Jungle Start Right. They are both tap water conditioners that do the same things, chlorine and chloramine, heavy metals, slime coat production...ect.

I was trying to save some space and consolidated the bottles. I didn't think much of it at the time.

Today when I went to use the water-conditioner I noticed a strong sulfur smell that neither of the individual products had possessed. I am afraid that I have had some chemical reaction take place.

What has happeded? Is this safe to use?

Don't use it. You have no idea what chemicals you have combined or what may have been produced.

Go get some Seachem Prime and forget about it.

Don't use it, don't smell it, and don't get any on you either.
Sulfur can get nasty and chemical reactions can be unpredictable. Get it out of the house. Better safe than sorry.
Things like water conditioner are so common we forget that they really can be dangerous. Same with the testing chemicals.
I keep mine in a locked tool box. Don't want the kids to get them by accident.
