If unilateral (one-sided) most often due to physical trauma. If bilateral (both sides) or other fish life similarly afflicted, due to poor environment and/or nutrition. Rarely due to infectious or parasitic agents. You should get a cleaner shrimp , and start feeding more nutritious foods..
