Goby in a QT

Hello. New to AA and saltwater. I want to do everything properly with this setup so I come seeking knowledge. I really like the two spotted gobies, but since they sift through the sand looking for algae to eat, what would they eat in the QT since I have read no gravel/sand should be used?

No sand= no food. It couldn't live in the QT indefinatly but fish can go a few days without food.

I also had a dragon goby that was a sand sifter and it eventually ate prepared foods before I returned it. They sift sand all over the LR and corals. Annoying little creature if you ask me.
