My lionfish died...but why?

Here is what I have...
salinity 1.020
ph 8.2
ammonia 0
nitrites 0
nitrates 0
10% water changes every week

He was acting just fine, he ate a live fish on Sunday (just like every other Sunday) and after that he usually just lays about for a day or so. I noticed last night he was laying on the bottom of the tank but he wasn't gasping for air. This morning he had moved and when I got out of the shower one of my snails was snacking on him. None of the other fish in the tank are sick or acting funny and he hadn't been acting out of the ordinary...Any ideas?

No one will be able to tell you exactly why as it could be from internal organ damage stemming prior to shipping or parasitic.

i figured it was just one of those things that happens...its my water was out of whack i would understand...maybe i will have better luck with the next one...
