my naso that i have had for about 3 weeks has finally started to eat very little and picking at rock. he is also still very shy, this should all get better but his color is real funny looking his body is very splotchy, with dark grey spots what could this be from.

This is a sign of stress and is common in new naso tangs, as the fish acclimates to captivity it should lessen.

FWIW, I have a juvenile Naso and he has those (actually lighter) gray splotches on his body. From my reading, this is normal with juveniles. As he grows these should disappear. Mine has almost doubled in size, is a real pig at food time but anytime he gets startled, those splotches will appear. Otherwise, he is an overall gray in body. Bottom line, nothing to worry about. HTH
