Depending on what bacteria is still alive in the tank, it may not take the full 6 weeks. I found it a good time to finish planning and squeeze in some more research. I didn't start clawing my eyes out until week 5 from the impatience . But on a serious not, if you think about it, the tank would be cycling for 6 weeks no matter what, just with fish you would be looking at them silently suffering.
