Here is a picture of my friends tank which he has a 30gal. live rock, live sand, crabs, emerald crab, snails, scooter fish, 2 clownfish, and 1 chromis. What could have caused this the conditions are pristine.

That is a bad link and goes to a page that says " page not found" . You need to repost it.

Here's the link. The image tags don't like there not being a .jpg at the end of the filename and aren't processing the page (rightfully so as it is an html page rather than a jpg).

I've enclosed it in URL tags instead.

It could just be turned inside out to eject feces. However, if it turns completly white it could be dying. Keep an eye on your ammonia closely. Try to touch it with a net or something to see if it retracts. I have had a couple of carpets that just died and disintegrated on me. Very high ammonia on that one.

How old is this? How long has it been like this? Current ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, SG, Ph, Temp, calcium, alk? What type of lighting is on the tank?
