Ive got 5 Yellowtail damoiselle's, and I've noticed that one of them has what appears to be damaged scales on one side towards his spine. They appear to be hanging off.

I guess he has scraped himself on some rock in the tank? There are plenty of places they race through all the time...

Could it be anything more sinister though? Any advice welcome... Thanks!

How long have they been in your system? Newly introduced?
Could be from fighting, netting, scraping on rock, lots of things. Doubt if its a parasite, but keep a close eye on him to be sure.
Keep water quality high and lace his food with a nutritional supplement such as selcon and he should be fine.

Been in there for 4 weeks now. Ive noticed this morning that most damaged scales have fallen off, so it looks like its due to either a fight or a rock scrape...

Thx
