My betta, Alpha, just ate a rock that was floating at the top of his water. I didn't think he would actually eat it so I didn't try to take it out, but will he be able to pass it? And his fins were turning black at the tips and thinning and getting a few small holes in them and his gills seemed black and inflamed so I bought some aquarium salt and his gills seemed to immediately get better and and some of his fins aren't as dark. I started using the salt two days ago when I cleaned his tank and I cleaned it again today. His head also turned black when I got him and under his head is white... will he be okay?

It was a pretty decent size... Probably about half a centimeter in diameter.

A rock was floating?

Yes, it was floating. I was changing his water and before i can scoop him out I had to take his bubbler out and that made some of the rocks move and one of them floated to the top and he ate it. He seems to be doing okay, still active as usual and still eating. Doesn't look or act sick. And the bulge seems smaller, so I have no idea if he's actually digesting it or if it just moved or what.
