I have a red gourami with an area on it's side that looks like white lumps. It's definitely not fuzz or ick or velvet. The scales aren't sticking out. It just looks like the flesh is raised. Almost like a hive on people. Our gouramis love to chase each other and we do have rocks...could those marks be wounds? The fish seems fine other wise, no clamped fins, no other signs of illness, always hungry, color is good...none of the other fish are exhibiting any similar signs.

no, not nearly as raised...the lack of color in the spot is wha tyou notice more than the spot being raised...if that makes sense...

Check your water parameters; sometimes losing color can be a sign of ammonia poisoning. Likely tho, its simply a scratch. Can you get a pic so we can confirm it?
