DROPSY

I need HELP, In the last week 2 bettas from my girls tank have die with dropsy, today I found another girl all bloated and with protruding scales. It is a 29G and it had 12 fishes there.

I am concern about the rest of my girls, they have not symptom of dropsy but shared the tank with the sick ones.

Should I do a total water change? any medicine? what should I do with the rest of the girls? isolated them too?

From what I have read its very hard to treat. How many fish are left with out symptoms? Definitely get the sick one out of there right away. Do a large water change. I would do say 50% now, 50% tomorrow.

I did a 100% water change. I have 10 fish left with no symptoms.
I isolated and medicated them with melafix and maracyn. Hopefully I wont have more dead fishes.

The fact that it has repeated would make me suspect that it might be the bacterial form of dropsy so anti-biotics just might work. Good Luck
