Help! My Platy looks very ill

Hello,

This is the first time I am dealing with what looks like a parasite and it killed I would guess all of my Platy fry (50) and now the fish that I was trying to re cycle the tank with. I put another Platy because of the ammonia spike. I thought because of the massive deaths about 40 the first day 5 the next and last night I added the Platy to try and help the survivors because I thought I was just dealing with an ammonia spike. There is a white film around her fins. Could this be fin rot?

That would be my guess as well - leading into a bacterial infection. Or damage from ammonia - depends how high it got to?

He died yesterday. The ammonia went to at least 1 ppm which is not that surprising with the amount of fry that I lost
