Ich - only syptom is the white spots

My SA Pufers look like they have ich. I first saw the white spots eight days ago. I raised the temperature over a few days and now it's at 83.4 degrees. I'm not using salt because of live plants. I don't have a quarantine tank yet but will be getting one soon. No other fish has any spots and none exhibit irregular behaviors. All the fish still eat voraciously. Is there another sickness that has the white spots? I haven't come across any in my search. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hmmm... SA puffers don't usually display that? So is he scratching or darting about? If he is getting sluggish I would guess his ick isn't bad yet... I would treat him, I can't think of any other illness with white spots.

Thanks for your interest, Saltypuppy. I lost my three puffers in the last two days. I talked to the guy at the LFS and he said that he usually losses about 25% of his puffers to ich.
