Seen this black spot on my balloon molly I just got. Anything to be concerned about or just a marking?

I take it this was not there before ? There is one parasitic problem known as black spot but I've never had to deal with it. Can you see if it's any kind of swelling or maybe just a torn off scale ?

I'm not sure if it was like that already or not. I just got him today.

In that case I would not worry. It is likely a natural mark. Just keep an eye on it, make sure it does not grow or that more do not appear. If not, no worries at all.
