Should I stop using the betta fix and just use regular treated water for awhile??
I have been using betta fix for a couple of days now, but I don't know if he's responding to it...

Clean water is always the best medicine. You can just use clean water. When my bettas bite their fins off, (yes, 2 of them like to do that), I change the water twice a week instead of once, (they are in 10 gallon tanks), and their fins grow back nicely.

Phelps Update:
Phelps is doing great! He is looking more and more like his old self!! I have been doing daily water changes, and he is on a strict pea-only diet until his belly slims down. He is trying to spread his fins more and more, while I was doing my makeup this morning, I noticed him flare at my mirror (its double sided.) I am pretty sure he will make a full recovery!
