Losing fish

Hi, um, need more details. I suspect you have answered the question but more info on what happened, how it started, how the fish died, any treatment, water parameters, etc, etc.

Would do extra water changes as a start. Rarely causes problems and will help flush the tank out.

Tested water had a spike in nitrites and nitrates so water changing now 7 fish lost

Hmm, suggests an ammonia spike preceding the nitrite increase. Would that be possible? Good luck!

May be but the ammonia is zero now

If the ammonia is 0, it may mean the cycle has progressed to an increase in N2.
