I have a red tailed barracuda that devolped a small raised white sphere right below his eye I followed directions and doses with maracide but it didn't get rid of it now I purchased tetras ick guard and just did the first dosing. I have removed the carbon raised temp done 25% wc every other day but it just isn't going away I want to get it early but it looks like its spreading to his dorsal fin please someone help

Ok here's the best pic I could get with my phone the spot is white raised the size of a grain of salt its located directly behind his eye

Its really hard to tell from those pictures.

It could be fungus or bacterial infection.

Hopefully someone can come in here and help you out.

Im having trouble with fungus on my rasbora.

Good luck buddy.

One spot is not much to worry about. Does he have any other symptoms? If not, don't worry about it. It could be just a tiny cyst.

Very rarely do I see other fish in my tank scratching or rubbing the barracuda never flashes. Would a cyst be perfectly round like a pin head and very white? He didn't have it when I got him last Christmas and then it just popped up one day

It's hard to see from the pic but if you suspect ich don't medicate just raise your temp to 86-87 for 2 weeks and see if it disappears. When I had to medicate once for ick I used copper safe. As long as you don't have any invertebrates. It works very well.
