Why did my Jewel die?

I just found my female jewel cichlid dead
She was fine about 12 hours ago. I did notice some bloating the last couple of days, but i thought she was just pregnant. Exhibited no change in behavior that I saw. Any ideas?
Parameters:
pH: 7.8-8.0
No amm
No nitrites
Nitrates: 5-10ppm

Im sorry about your Cichlid... I dong keep Cichlids so don't know much about them but I hope someone answers soon...

Yes. I did notice some pinecone effect since you put it that way. Sorry about bumping. Its second nature in some other unrelated forums

Look up DROPSY and see if it applies... I lost a betta to it last week....
