I have many of these in my tank on my LR. Most are the color brown or white and are very hard. They do not disappear into LR when touched. Looking for some advice on identity and if they are good or bad. I have looked at many articles about hitchhikers and have not been able to locate anything. Thanks in advance.

So pretty much from what I read is the tubes are always there but you dont see the snails only the webs. And yes I do see slime looking webs but only about once a week. It does say if they are good or bad.

It doesn't say good or bad because they're harmless unless they're too close to coral, they will sting it. But I have them all over my LR and my corals are doing fine.

Yeah I have the same experience. They are also all over my LR and do not seem to agitate any of the corals I have. Thanks for the help.

So If I were to decide to rid my tank of a few of these, then how would I go about that? They are hard when I touch them. Do I clip them off with pliers?

I have them all over my tank they have never caused a problem, but if you want them gone you can take a razor or your finger to pop them off, but they will just keep regrowing.

I would only like to get rid of a few that are near a few of my corals. If I do pop them off or cut them will they regrow in the same spot? I know it is mostly impossible to rid the tank of them.

If you pop them off they will not grow back in the same spot but more will generally grow in the same area. when I clean my tank they pop off in some areas mainly when they get to long.
