Brown Alge?

Okay, so after about 2 weeks of having my tank fully up and running with 3 damsels in it and about 25 pounds of live rock, I started to notice some brown alge. I just wanted to know what this was and if it will harm my fish. Thanks!

I'll have a pic up tomorrow. My fish are sleeping for now it's on my rocks. It's not a lot but I'm wondering if it can hurt my fish.

Is it on the substrate? Does it blow off? Or is it stringy? Etc

You have diatoms which means your tank is new. Relax you will probably be battling algae of one form or another for first year while it establishes itself. Once cycled keep up on your water changes so hopefully you will only get small amounts of algae.
