I finally got this guy. He has sharp, pointed claws with black ends. He's been in the tank for a long time now and I finally got him out. I'm pretty sure that he's responsible for some fish and coral losses.

Sadly, he lost a claw when I took him out of the tank but he seems to be doing alright in the sump. His shell is about just over an inch from side to side.

The black tips on the pincher claws means it probably isn't reef safe. Do you have a sump you can put it in? If someone has a mantis shrimp they could use it as natural food especially if it is a smasher mantis.

He an another xanthid are in the sump. I`m pretty sure that I`ve lost some zoas and fish to this guy. I have been trying to trap/capture it for a long time.
