It is the light bluish purple coral sitting on the very top of the rock. Not the purple sponge.

could be an acan or favia. hard to tell without seeing the skeleton.
it doesn't belong on top of the rock. better off on the sand bed. you could also put some meaty foods on those tentacles and it will love you for it.

How about light sensitivity and flow rate?

I keep mine at the bottom of the tank usually on the sand bed they like low flow and light. I have both MH and T5 they do equally well under both.
